Evolution Cycles offer a range of bike maintenance and repair training courses to help you to get the most out of your bike. Participants learn the secrets of our bike whisperer Chris who has 20 years of experience building and fixing bikes. Covering everything from basic maintenance through to wheel building and drive train replacement there is a course for everyone.

Having 20+ years of experience in the bike industry, Chris is also a highly trained CyTech mechanic, one of the highest qualifications in Bicycle Maintenance worldwide. Chris has worked with pro cycle teams around the world and continues to be one of the most sought after mechanics in the trade.

Attending a maintenance course even if you usually have your bike serviced by a shop is very worthwhile. Knowing how to adjust brakes and gears, etc will give you the confidence to fix it yourself to keep yourself going if something goes wrong on the ride.

INTENSIVE MAINTENANCE COURSE

Fix nearly anything on your bike, replace a innertube (with ease), tighten your brakes and set up your gears. Service your wheel hubs, tru your wheels, service your headset and bottom bracket. We’ve taught this course to avid roadies, die hard mountain bikers and commuters dependant on their bikes who all love it.

ADVANCED MAINTENANCE COURSE

The perfect follow on from our Intensive Day Course, we will go even more in depth teaching you how to replace all cables, how to correctly bleed and set up hydraulic brakes, how to replace your bar tape and a lot more.

3-DAY MECHANIC PROGRAMME

Our three day mechanics course is one of the most in-depth bicycle mechanics courses in Ireland. It will cover the essentials of bicycle repair and servicing and a lot more. This course will have you working on bikes with ease, it will build confidence in your mechanical abilities and teach you all the skills to maintain and repair bicycles of different types.

2 HOUR MODULAR COURSES, EVENINGS 7PM-9PM

All about the drivetrain; derailleur installation, gear indexing, cable replacement and chain sizing.

Be the star in any riding group when you remedy gear issues with a precision magical touch. The Geared Up course gives you the knowledge to install and problem solve any gear set up.

All about brakes; brake installation, covering V-Brakes, Road Brakes and Hydraulic Brakes.

Become a wizard at fixing and setting up brakes including the art of bleeding hydraulic brakes. The Dead Stop course gives the knowledge to fix and solve any braking issues.

A must for every cyclist. Perform a ‘MOT’ of your bike. Be able to replace your innertube and tyres, tighten brakes and set up your gears.

Aimed at anyone wanting to be able to service their own bike at home. The Tune Up course will allow you to build up the confidence to work on your bike, diagnose and repair minor issues.

All about straightening wheels. Make your own wheels, hand built to last for years. On this wheel building crash course you’ll take a pre laced wheel, either your own build or our course wheels, and learn the intricacies of building spoke tension, rim dishing and truing.

We’ll cover spoke calculations and lacing on the evening but if you’re building your own wheel then book yourself a 1-1 pre course session for help with spoke length and lacing patterns.
